How this affects you: A new virus is spreading through MSN Instant Messenger. Do not click on any website links that you receive in MSN Instant Messenger and immediately close the MSN window. The new virus message may appear to be from a known or unknown contact. It requests you to click on a link to a website in order to determine who has deleted or blocked you from their MSN contacts. Clicking on the link will compromise your MSN login credentials.
Characteristics of the MSN Virus Message:
Message may come from a known or unknown contact.
The text in the Instant Message states "Check out this web http://www.messenger****.com it tells you who has deleted or blocked you from their MSN."
Required Actions: If you have already clicked on the website address for the above mentioned scam, log in to MSN live https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx?mkt=EN-US and immediately change your password.
Never click on a website address or attachment if the message appears out of character for the sender.
If you were not expecting a communication, verify the message is legitimate before taking any actions listed in the message.
